About Us
Arts & Entertainment Virginia is the E-News branch of ArtSync, an independent company founded in 2008 in Lynchburg, Virginia, with the express purpose to get the word out about the wealth of performances and events being produced in the region.
We realized that audiences were small for some really great shows because people weren’t hearing about the shows until after they closed. We wanted to change that.
Origins
ArtSync started as an independent company in association with the Arts Marketing Group. The Arts Marketing Group, which later generated the new James River Council for the Arts & Humanites, was an incentive by Arts makers and presenters in central Virginia, specifically Lynchburg and surrounds, to inform the public of the wealth of Arts experiences available to them in the region. ArtsLynchburg.net grew from that incentive as a free Arts Calendar to help coordinate performance scheduling and get the word out to a broader public. LynchburgTickets.com was the next step forward, providing an online ticket sales solution and online presence for companies that had not yet stepped into the digital world. Our early e-blasts have developed into the Arts & Entertainment Virginia newsletter, focused on keeping our readership informed of the full array of entertainment options available in central Virginia.
Our Mission
ArtSync is dedicated to promotion of the Arts on a broad scale and support of Artists and Arts organizations, as well as those people who are about the business of building the community. We believe that a healthy and vibrant Arts community leads to a healthy, engaged, vibrant, and happy Community in general. Our aim is to enhance the quality of life in central Virginia by connecting people with the Arts and building the audience for artists. LynchburgTickets.com, in association with ArtsLynchburg.net, is one means to advance that mission, by pulling together a large number of arts organizations and providing a convenient means to buy tickets online. Arts & Entertainment Virginia provides a promotional vehicle to better serve the purpose.
